The film follows the chanteuse from her forlorn childhood in a brothel to her big break at Louis Leplée's (Gérard Depardieu) nightclub and her premature death at age 47. 029- Beowulf: Director's Cut

Robert Zemeckis directs this film adaptation of the longest surviving Anglo-Saxon poem, an epic tale concerning a 6th-century Scandinavian warrior named Beowulf (Ray Winstone) and his mission to slay the manlike ogre Grendel (Crispin Glover), a descendant of Cain. This film's notable cast includes Anthony Hopkins as King Hrothgar, John Malkovich as Unferth and Angelina Jolie as Grendel's tormented mother.
030- An Unfinished Life

When her husband dies, grieving widow Jean Gilkyson (Jennifer Lopez) moves herself and her daughter, Griff (Becca Gardner), into the Wyoming home of her estranged father-in-law, steely rancher Einar (Robert Redford), even though they don't get along. Einar can't get over the death of his only son, while Jean struggles to make sense of her new life. But over time, the two learn to move on through the power of forgiveness.
031- The Grudge

Sarah Michelle Gellar stars as a woman who battles forces of evil in this English-language version of a famous Japanese horror film, Ju-On, about a wretched curse that descends on a person about to die in a fit of rage. Once the curse hits and the victim dies, a more powerful curse is spawned, one much deadlier and more difficult to overcome. Directed by Takashi Shimizu, who also helmed the original, the film co-stars Jason Behr and Clea Duvall.
032- School for Scoundrels

A hapless meter reader (Jon Heder) signs up for a confidence-building course to acquire the self-assurance he needs to win the hand of his dream girl (Jacinda Barrett), but the class turns out to be a bust when it becomes apparent that the teacher (Billy Bob Thornton) has designs on the same woman. Michael Clarke Duncan co-stars in director Todd Phillips's remake of the 1960 British comedy of the same name.
033- Grilled

Good salesmen can move any merchandise -- theoretically, at least. But what if the product is an ungodly amount of frozen beef? Leave it to door-to-door hucksters Maurice (Ray Romano) and Dave (Kevin James) to get the job done, even if they have to pull every trick in the book to make quota; if they fail, they could end up as … dead meat. Buscapé (Alexandre Rodrigues) is frightened he'll end up like the countless others around him -- troubled, violent or dead. Geared up for some carousing around town, an ex-soldier (Christian Bale) who's just accepted a job with the DEA cajoles his pal (Freddy Rodriguez) into joining him for a little hell-raising. But when their good times turn to tragedy, the buddies are in for a rude awakening. First-time director David Ayer also penned the script for this gritty drama about the consequences of friendship, set in South Central Los Angeles.
038- Eragon

Barry Winchell (Troy Garity), who meets and falls for a beautiful transgendered nightclub performer (Lee Pace) while on a drunken outing with fellow soldiers. Winchell's relationship is frowned upon by the other soldiers -- and eventually leads to tragedy at the hands of his homophobic roommate. Garity and Pace both earned Independent Spirit nods for their performances.

Kevin Smith (Clerks) directs this comedic action flick co-starring Adam Brody, Jason Lee, Michelle Trachtenberg, Kevin Pollak and Seann William Scott.

In this documentary financed with their own money (and without help from the chain), indie filmmakers Ron and Robert Galloway look at the company's business practices and delve into whether the antipathy toward the box-store behemoth is really merited.
131- Dracula: The Dark Prince

A horrifying legend is masterfully brought to life in this film based on the history of Romanian prince Vlad the Impaler (Rudolf Martin) -- who later became known as Dracula. While portraying Vlad as a messiah fighting for peace and justice in his homeland, the film also illustrates the origins of the Dracula myth -- Vlad's blood-drinking, impaling enemies with stakes, fear of mirrors and rebellion against religion.

Cornering the market on sex and blackmail, Dwight McCarthy (Clive Owen) matches rich men with prostitutes before snapping their photographs and selling the pictures to their wives -- but he'd give anything to go legit. Robert Rodriguez continues to flesh out co-director Frank Miller's Sin City series of graphic novels with this gritty film noir co-starring Jessica Alba, Brittany Murphy and Rosario Dawson, a prequel to the first film.

Recently released from jail, convict Brett Hanson (William Hurt) grows close to a young couple, Martine (Kristen Stewart) and Gordy (Eddie Redmayne), while journeying back home to his wife, May (Maria Bello). Set in Louisiana, this romantic road trip drama explores the loneliness everyone carries. Director Udayan Prasad remakes Yôji Yamada's acclaimed 1977 Japanese film, which was adapted from a column by American novelist Pete Hamill.

137- Grown Ups

Comedy superstars Adam Sandler, Chris Rock, Rob Schneider, David Spade and Kevin James team up for a story of five childhood pals who reunite after 30 years to mourn the loss of their old basketball coach. Gathering at a July 4th celebration where their families meet for the first time, the friends find themselves acting a bit inappropriate for their age. Director Dennis Dugan pairs with frequent collaborator Sandler, who co-wrote the screenplay.
138- Dinner for Schmucks

Tim Conrad (Paul Rudd) hosts a weekly dinner party where he invites his friends to bring along the saddest, most pathetic loser they can find. But when the ultimate schmuck (Steve Carell) arrives, his actions somehow turn everyone else into the losers. Comic heavy hitters Zach Galifianakis and Ron Livingston lend able support in director Jay Roach's (Austin Powers) darkly humorous film, an adaptation of the French comedy The Dinner Game.
139- You Don't Know Jack

Al Pacino stars in this enthralling biopic that focuses on the life of Dr. Jack Kevorkian, the controversial physician who boldly advocated the legalization of euthanasia and personally helped over 100 terminally ill patients commit suicide. Directed by Hollywood veteran Barry Levinson, this drama co-stars Susan Sarandon as vocal activist Janet Good and John Goodman as Kevorkian's trusted friend and supporter Neal Nicol.
140- The Human Centipede: First Sequence

After their car breaks down while in Germany, Americans Lindsay (Ashley C. Williams) and Jenny (Ashlynn Yennie) wind up at a remote villa -- and soon find themselves trapped in a nightmare. Dr. Josef Heiter (Dieter Laser) kidnaps them for his demented experiment to create a human "centipede." The plan includes removing their kneecaps so they must walk on all fours, then surgically connecting them to a Japanese man to create a bizarre human chain.

Doing whatever it takes to get the rocker from Point A to Point B, Aaron encounters all manners of mishaps in this comedy directed by Nicholas Stoller and produced by Judd Apatow.
144- Scott Pilgrim vs. The World

When dreamy delivery girl Ramona (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) starts popping up in his life, slacker musician Scott (Michael Cera) takes notice. But to secure a date with this rollerblading goddess, Scott must first vanquish all seven of her evil ex-boyfriends in martial arts battles. Based on Bryan Lee O'Malley's graphic novels, director Edgar Wright's action-packed romcom also stars Anna Kendrick, Brandon Routh and Chris Evans.
